Windows Starter 2007

Dear all,
Do Microsoft have any plan to launch Windows Starter 2007 in Cambodia. I heard that the Starter edition is purpose for the developing Country! So I hope they may offer Cambodia.
Thanks
Rithy

I believe they will... I think I heard they did. There going along the same lines as Windows XP Starter Edition, so parts of Russia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brazil, a Hindi edition, and a Thai edition. So they might well branch out, but it depends whether the economy needs a good boost, and whether Microsoft get any money out of it :o)

Zack, first of all, stop assuming! There are no plans currently to release Windows Starter 2007 for Cambodia, yes its for emerging markets, but the packaging distribution has not been finalized, wait a bit closer to RTM to find that out. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta FAQ for MS AntiSpy http://www.geocities.com/marfer_mvp/FAQ_MSantispy.htm "Rithy Chhan" wrote in message

Cambodia is an emerging market. If you look at the way the economy is going at the moment, you can see that there is definately something going for it. However, if you looked at the Starter Editions from XP, they released a Thai edition, so that may do for Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos and other countries around that area I would have thought.
Anyway, what else can we do other than guess? Only about half what we know is what Microsoft have told us, another quarter is what we've had to find out ourselves and the other quarter has to good guessing... you do that just as much as anyone else does, including me!

They should offer Cambodia, because now Cambodians have been localization some of open source software to Khmer. Now they finished Open Office 2.0 and other... Currently they are translating Linux SUSE to Khmer, hope to finish end of this year! So if MS have plan to improve the use of legal MS software in Cambodia, they should offer Cambodia for Windows Starter 2007.
